“Phantom Sweetheart” – Nicholas Stevenson: Review

22 Oct

I have made it no secret that I am a huge fan of Cambridge’s sudden influx of talented young musicians, in particular, Nicholas Stevenson.
Following the resounding success of his EP, ‘The Aeroplane Darling’, Stevenson set to work on creating his debut album, ‘Phantom Sweetheart’.
His vocals remain mellow yet oddly haunting (very apt for the Halloween release date of the album), and his lyrics still posses the sweet nostalgia that listeners of his debut EP will be familiar with.
It’s easy to see why Stevenson has been found supporting the likes of Mumford & Sons and Frank Turner, his songs are beautifully crafted, and he has a talent at storytelling that is rarely found.

-The album launch for Phantom Sweetheart is at Old Blue Last in Shoreditch on Halloween
-The single, ‘Tip Toes’, is available to download for free, from Hilldrop Records
-Details of Nicholas Stevenson’s tour can be found here
